Parents and Guardians,
Wakulla County Schools are actively monitoring the active shooter situation at FSU. A small number of students were on a field trip in Tallahassee to participate in the Special Olympics Torch Run, and they have all been accounted for safely. Their return to Wakulla County may be delayed as law enforcement in Tallahassee is responding to the active situation. Their return may impact the timing of our afternoon bus routes, and more information will be shared as that timing is better known.
All WCS schools are still operating as normal and will dismiss at the regular time. We appreciate you patience as we work through this unfortunate situation.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved at FSU, and we will be prepared to assist our students and families who may be impacted directly.

This summer, the Wakulla County School District is offering an enrichment camp program for current students finishing kindergarten through 4th grade, ages 6-10 (must be currently enrolled in WCSD to attend).
If you are interested in enrolling your student in our Summer Enrichment Program, please complete the information below and return it via email (summerenrichment@wcsb.us) or drop it off at
the District Office (69 Arran Road).

Congratulations to the LEAD Graduates at Medart Elementary!
Fifth-grade students in Ms. Driggers’, Ms. Lawhon’s, and Ms. DiLorenzo’s classes have completed the L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence) program, led by SRO Deputy Kyle Hanks! 🚔📚
As part of the program, students created posters and essays to show what they’ve learned about making positive choices, resisting peer pressure, and staying drug-free. 🎨📝 Featured projects included work by Izabella Murphy, Kellie Gwaltney, and Liam Garber!
A huge thank you to Sheriff Jared Miller, Superintendent Rick Myhre, Colonel Ray Johnson, Captain Jeffrey Yarbrough, Principal Stan Ward, and our amazing teachers for supporting this program. đź’™
Together, we’re building a safer, healthier future for our students! #LEADGraduation #SafeSchools #FutureLeaders
